Would I use pre-packaged food?
If you choose to join the NutriMed program you will use regular grocery food with the addition of delicious, high protein NutriMed snacks. There is a choice of shakes/puddings, smoothies and bars in a variety of flavors. You can even use strategies to enjoy meals out at restaurants.
Will I follow a menu plan?
Each week you will need to track what you eat, in a journal. You will be given a calorie range to stay within that is calculated according to you body's metabolism, measured through a 10 minute body composition analysis. In addition, ISWLC will provide basic guidelines which will be the framework of your food plan and will make suggestions based on your journal in order for you to make healthier choices. We also feature a Recipe of the Week in the blog and will have a copy of it in the office so you can take a copy home with you!
Can you tell me a little about the program?
The consultant will meet one-on-one with each patient and everyone's program is individualized. During your initial visit, she will spend time assessing your health status, conducting body composition analysis to determine your metabolic needs, and devising a customized food and exercise plan for you. Bloodwork to be ordered and will review the results with you. She will meet with you weekly. Each visit, you'll be medically monitored, review your program and address any issues that arose during the previous week. You will also learn cognitive behavioral techniques to help you change your unhealthy thinking patterns. When you change your thoughts, your behavior will follow. ISWLC's goal is not only to have you just reach your weight loss goals, but also to keep the weight off for good by learning the new eating behaviors and lifestyle changes.
Do you prescribe appetite suppressants?
If it is appropriate for the patient, yes, Dr. Jamaleddine will prescribe appetite suppressants. He will look for health issues that may offect this decision before proceeding. These patients must have lab work performed along with an EKG which will be given here at the office. They must come in for weekly scheduled monitoring. Any additional medical interventions will be prescribed on an individual basis.
Will I see the doctor at each visit?
No, each patient will be examined and spend time speaking with our Medical Assistant. You will be meeting with Dr. Jamaleddine at the Initial visit and periodically throughout, though he is ALWAYS located on site and is available to see patients if needed.
What is the cost of the program?
InShape Weight Loss Center has many different programs - each individualized for the best needs of the patient. It is best to schedule a consultation to determine what your cost will be. There are also several payment options and discounts that we can discuss with you.
What is the cost for a consultation?
The cost for a consultation is FREE!! yes thats what i said, FREE!
Do you accept insurance?
Many individuals have a medical savings account. Costs from our program are eligible for reimbursement from that account if considered medically necessary. We do have affordable payment plans and discounts if this is not an option.
What if I need to lose an extreme amount of weight?
Together, you and your consultant will decide what what short term goals and long term goal will be made. Your consultant along with the doctor will make a customized plan that will work specifically for you. We will be here to help you though the weight loss process.
Is anything off-limits on this program?
Nothing is off-limits, unless there is something that you shouldn't have due to health issues which will be discussed in your consultation. Portion control and staying within your calorie range is key. Upcoming event such as a wedding, or parties? talk to consultant at your weekly couseling appointment about the best strategy for you. For patients following the NutriMed eating plans, there will be restrictions during the weight loss phase of the program while utilizing meal replacements.
